Default Staying on permenantly, a no no?

Well a friend of mine is planning on taking his bodybuilding career to the next level. He's been asking me for advice and I honestly have no idea on the topic of staying on year round or if the pro's even do that. He has won several competitions but now wants to step up his game by staying on 24/7. What would you guys recommend? Do you guys have any links to articles I could show him to point him in the right direction on how to stay on year round, or not to. He's not a novice aas user and at 5'9 is weighing in at 220 for competition weight. Off season the guy probably gets up to about 260. What do you guys think would be best for him. I know nothing about staying on year round so I'm not much help on the topic. Any info would be great...

My opinnion my opinnion only. Being older & in this game for some time.

Once your body hits a certain age your free test levels drop. When this happens normally your doc will put you on TRT. If your on TRT then your going to be on for the rest of your life., your just monitored by a doctor.

Alot of pros stay on all year & monitor there blood. I've ran 20+ wks twice a yr for the last couple if not 3 yrs now. I have my blood check a couple times during the cycle & everything is still good to go. You just adjust your doseages & cruise @ trt levels for peroids of time. If you need to "activate" your testes normally they'll have you take hcg.

Am I saying this is right? That's all up to him. Everyone is different & if he's new in the game I'd say no. Been in the game & know how the body reacts then it's a thought.

Like I said this is my opinnion only.

Yeah I have to aggree with Thunder. I'm 43,been on for a few years. Not worried about having kids so thats not a factor Personally,I love it.Wouldn't want to live anyother way. It sounds like your bro is young, would really like to know how old he is B4 giving too muh advise, that being said I believe you don't have any other hoie if you want to compete. I mean really look at the pros,do you really think they are cycling 12 on and 12 off, get real. Its a JOB. Shit I dont and I'm just a dude. Its a discision he will have to make.

The pros NEVER come "off", "off" for them is probably about 1000mg! When staying "on", you have to cycle -still- down to 200mg/ew between cycles. This is a TRT dose. I am considering it now myself. If you r friend is under 25- I say forget it. I am almost 28 * I think I may be too young....But....So many buts...

I haven't come off in probably 4 years. Hit a cycle-go to HRT-back on cycle-repeat step #1. Lots of blood work done and my blood is solid, I don't think you can check your blood to much bros.

If your considering this you should probably be competing or some major event in your vision as a goal IMO not for a rec lifter...

My 2 cents

I agree that the key issue here is bloodwork. Your friend should make damn sure that his career aspirations don't seriously jeopardize his health.

When considering "what the Pro's do", remember that they have personal physicians and nutritionists to help monitor their well being day to day. I doubt that someone aspiring to be a Pro will have such luxuries.

That being said, Testosterone Replacement Therapy is a perfectly legitimate medical treatment, so it is certainly not out of the realm of possibility to stay permanently "on" safely. It just requires a much more serious commitment from the aspiring Professional to monitor his/her health under such conditions (especially at dosage levels that are considerably higher than what are normally prescribed for TRT).

My advice? Find an honest, trustworthy and sympathetic physician. That's the most important aspect of "staying on".

Best of luck to your friend! That's a damn hard road to travel. He has my respect for taking it on.
