This bill is about protecting the phone companies. It has nothing to do with loosing rights. The Democratic Senate just wants to make sure no lawsuits come back on the phone company incase they gave to much information without properlly protecting thier clients.
By the way. Bush ording survallance of the phones is legal. It's been done before and it will be done again if need be.
And I do write my congressman or govenor or mayor or whatever.
