Default cornstarch vs wms *cross posted*

Has anyone tried or considered using cornstarch in place of wms? After reading up on it a bit, I learned that they aren't much different. Cornstarch is 26% amylose and 74% amylopectin whereas wms is 99% amylopectin (1). Amylose seems undeniably inferior to amylopectin (2), but seeing as how cornstarch still has a 3:1 ratio of amylopectin, I'm wondering if the extra cost of wms is worth it when you could just use cornstarch. I read a few sparse posts where people said they used cornstarch pwo. Has anyone else tried cornstarch as a supplement? I think I may pick some up today and give it a shot.

The cornstarch experiment seems to be working. It feels like it's at least as effective post work out as dextrose. At less than $1 a pound, I'd say it's worth people trying. Again, I can't compare it to wms because I've never tried wms. However, I seem to get the same effects from cornstarch that people describe from wms: nice pump, replenishment, energy, etc.
