The life of a sailor is often lacking in excitement, but never in appeal. A sailor by his very nature is struggling against the elements whether they be sea or weather. For this reason a sailor must have a husky and rugged physique to meet the challenge that he encounters every day of his life. Even when ashore he finds it hard to let up and finds companionship with his buddies with whom he has shared so many of the perils of his shipboard life.

For all his virility, his massive chest and powerful biceps, he is at heart a tender and sensitive individual who can express himself in his off hours by painting or needlework. Versatility is therefore a prime requisite of any seafaring man.

Ahoy

muscle men in navy uniform gallery

Sailors from the beginning of time have been portrayed in story and song and in art as being virile and muscular. Now we arc able to see the sailor through the eye of the camera, and this issue of Ahoy is dedicated to all those modern adonis of the deep who now patrol the seas in atomic submarines to maintain the freedom of the Western world. Here we can see the power and the definition that hard work and dedication to exercise can do, not only for the navy man but for all who want to follow his example. Here are your favourite bodybuilders in nautical poses.
